Wolf Awareness Week!
Good morning all!
Just a little note to inform everyone of a very important week, not only for me, but for wildlife conversationists everywhere. October 17-23 is Wolf Awareness Week. What is WAW? Well, I’m glad you asked!
Wolf Awareness Week is a time to educate the public and dispell common misconceptions about one of the most incredible animals in nature. Too often, the public believes what they learn from the media, from old folklore and myths and others. They do not realize the ecological impact this species has in the territories in which they live.
Earlier in the 20th Century, the wolf was nearly wiped from the planet. If you’ve seen the images of the mass killings of the wolf that I have seen in my research, you would know that it is not only wrong, but sickening.
Please join me in learning more about the wolf. Visit the ‘Defenders of Wildlife page dedicated to Wolf Awareness Week. Read, learn, help and keep this beautiful animal around for our children and grandchildren to know and love. Click here -> Wolf Awareness Week
Thank you!
Julie
